AllMusic Review by

Iroquois songstress and storyteller Joanne Shenandoah shares a story of a shy young girl who wants to sing, and, in her quest, meets a pantheon of characters, including wolves, a turtle and the moon. There are moments of great beauty, but other times when the out-of-tune singing may be culturally correct, it strains the ears.
