AllMusic Review by

This LP has formerly rare broadcasts featuring Machito's Orchestra at the height of the bop era. Trumpeter Howard McGhee and tenor saxophonist Brew Moore guest with the heated band on many selections, including "Cubop City" and "How High the Moon," and vibraphonist Milt Jackson drops by for the brief "Boppin' the Vibes." In addition, Moore and singer Harry Belafonte join Machito on "Lean On Me," and there are three special tracks from an unknown Cuban band (possibly Machito's), two songs of which feature guest Charlie Parker. Historic music that is reasonably well recorded; bop collectors will want this album.
