Action: The Best of Streetheart is a title that is truly misleading. Only nine songs make up this sparse compilation, leaving out hard hitting tunes like "Have It Your Way," "One More Time," and their best effort, "What Kind of Love Is This" from their self-titled 1982 release. Their version of the Rolling Stones' "Under My Thumb" appears here, but a better live cut from the Over 60 Minutes With Streetheart compilation is a zestier offering, as is the in-concert form of "Action" from the same album. The Best of Streetheart almost saves itself with "Here Comes the Night," a rocked up rendering of the Van Morrison classic. "Jokes on You" is another bright spot as well, since it combines decent riffs and a favorable streamlined flow. Songs like "Hollywood" and "Just for You" can be better appreciated on the 16-track Capitol collection, and the lengthy instrumental "Highway Isolation" is just another pointless guitar ramble.
