The Dramatics were one of the best soul groups of the early '70s, scoring a series of hits for Volt Records. After leaving Volt, they went to ABC Records in 1974 and stayed there until the end of the decade. The hits began to become a little bit smaller, and that's partially because they were either covering other people's hits ("Me and Mrs. Jones") or lacked solid material. ABC Years 1974-1980 collects their biggest hits from this period. While the music on the collection isn't as consistently thrilling as their early '70s hits, there are a couple of gems buried in these 11 tracks that makes the album worthwhile for dedicated fans.
