Re:Zound's national debut follows the same blueprint for gritty, compelling worship rock as their labelmates Ever Stays Red and Out of Ruin. What distinguishes them is a bit of Christian music history. They have the distinction of being the first Christian artist to be broadcast on state-run national television in communist Vietnam. The feat occurred several months prior to the recording of Abandoned to You, which funnels the band's post-alternative rock into a singular, raw worship experience. Frontman Jason Anderson wears his heart on his sleeve and doesn't deny the depth of his convictions on odes like "Beautiful," "I Belong to You," and "Sanctity." If earnestness equaled radio success, these guys would top the charts. Abandoned to You is full of emotion and vulnerability, qualities that endear this band to legions of fans.
