Jim Reeves was one of the artists who typified the Nashville countrypolitan sound, a singer whose rich, smooth voice brought to life songs of love and loss with understated passion and strength. Reeves was a man of faith, and his voice was well suited to gospel and inspirational material; during the height of his career, he released three popular albums devoted to inspirational songs, God Be with You (1958), Songs to Warm Your Heart (1959), and We Thank Thee (1962), with a fourth spiritual collection, My Cathedral (1967), released after his tragic death in 1964. Beautiful Life: Songs of Inspiration is a 20-song collection that brings together some of the finest songs from Reeves' gospel catalog, honoring his music and his faith 50 years after his passing. Selections include "May the Good Lord Bless and Keep You," "Where We'll Never Grow Old," "It Is No Secret (What God Can Do)," "I'd Rather Have Jesus," and "Take My Hand, Precious Lord."
