Madacy's#1 Pop Hits of the 60s & 70s offers up a paltry ten songs, all of which are oddly enough from the '60s. And all but one of which are re-recordings except for the Shangri-Las "Leader of the Pack." The rest are pretty tough to swallow re-dos of classics like Percy Sledge's "When a Man Loves a Woman" and Wayne Fontana's "Game of Love." There are also two Peter Noone-less Herman's Hermits tracks included for some reason. At least the label lets you know upfront that you are getting re-recordings. Give them credit for that before you rip them for cynically attempting to ruin people's memories of the past.
