Artist Biography by

William I. Lengeman III is an experienced freelance journalist with nearly 200 published articles to his credit. He has written on a wide variety of topics since taking up freelancing in 1989. Prior to that he worked in the the per-recorded music retail industry for more than10 years. In addition to his work with AMG, he also writes monthly humor columns for the Internet-based periodicals, The Writing Channel and What If...The Magazine of the Modern Philosopher. His other works have appeared in various trade, consumer and business magazines, and newspapers.

While he finds music of merit in virtually any category, Bill's particular passions these days are world music, particularly Afropop, and the music of Woody Guthrie. And while any attempt to distill a lifetime of listening into the "10 Favorite Albums" or "Desert Island Disc" format is tricky, at best, and foolish, at worst, here is his best attempt (in no particular order)

Desert Island Picks

1. Lou Reed: Live, Take No Prisoners

2. Lou Reed: Street Hassle

3. Throbbing Gristle: Second Annual Report

4. SPK: Auto Da Fe

5. Dead Boys: Young, Loud and Snotty

6. Ramones: Leave Home

7. Handel: Water Music

8. Malathini and the Mahotella Queens: any

9. Woody Guthrie: any

10. Tom Waits: any
