This UK jugband-cum-skiffle group enjoyed a concurrent career as Brett Marvin And The Thunderbolts. Little effort was spared to hide this fact, even though each ‘act’ was signed to different recording companies. The Dinosaurs enjoyed the patronage of producer/entrepreneur Jonathan King, who signed them to his UK label. Their debut single, ‘Seaside Shuffle’, reached number 2 in 1972, while the following year the group scored a minor chart entry with ‘On A Saturday Night’. The ‘Brett Marvin’ appellation was fully resurrected when further releases proved unsuccessful, while vocalist/keyboard player Jona Lewie later embarked on a solo career.
