The husband-and-wife duo of Sterling Fletcher had its roots as Gilligan Loves Mary Ann, a touring '90s folk group that was formed when Alabama native Walt Fletcher relocated to the Gulf Coast. He met singer Amy Graham and the two instantly hit it off, leading to the formation of their first group soon after. Touring the college circuit, the couple fell in love and Amy Graham became Amy Fletcher after a few years. The duo settled in Nashville to record their original material for Uncle Am Records in 2002, leading to the release of Full Circle that summer.
