Comprised of members Jacob Sacks (piano), Sam Sadigursky (reeds), Eivind Opsvik (bass), and Don Peretz (drums), the New York City-based jazz outfit Spirals Quartet has played regularly at such acclaimed local venues as the Knitting Factory, Visiones, the Blue Note, Internet Cafe, Detour, Cleopatra's Needle, the Dear Head Inn, Carnegie Hall, and the Village Vanguard (in addition to touring nationally and on Europe's jazz festival circuit). All four of its members have taught music at clinics and lectures, and all have done time as session musicians, working with the likes of Brad Mehldau, Bob Mintzer, Ray Brown, Steve Slagle, Billy Hart, Lew Soloff, and Phil Woods. 2001 saw the Spirals Quartet's debut release, Spirals, on Unleaded Records.
