Studio project spearheaded by former Cold Crank vocalist/bassist Craig Campbell. After the demise of his former band, Campbell continued to work on both solo demos and proposed projects that either fell through or didn't progress past the recording stage. In 2004 he put together Rock N Roll Monkey & the Robots to flesh out and complete the unreleased material he had amassed over the years. The resulting album, Detroit Trauma, came out in 2005. Sounds and influences on the disc range from spirited garage rock and punk hysteria to brooding new wave. Though there are many musicians present on the recordings (including former players in the Fluid, the Atomic Numbers, and the Empty Set, as well as the other members of Cold Crank), the mainstays of the group are Campbell, vocalist/percussionist Jackie Herman, and multi-instrumentalist/co-producer Ken Seech.
