Rhoda Daker (a former member of UK group the Bodysnatchers) briefly teamed up with the Special AKA in 1981. The following year, they backed her in the above collaboration on "The Boiler". This extraordinary song about sexual attitudes towards women, chillingly evoked an attempted rape, ending with a blood-curdling scream. Because of its controversial subject matter and impassioned performance, moves were made to ban it, but it subsequently climbed into the UK Top 40.
