Artist Biography by

b. USA. Jhones studied at New York’s New School, graduating with a BA degree in jazz vocals. She has worked in many places outside America, including Japan, Switzerland, and Turkey and has also worked on cruise ships, including a 1991 jazz cruise on which she opened for Dizzy Gillespie, Stanley Turrentine and others. Among musicians with whom she has worked and sometimes recorded are Kenny Barron, Roy Hargrove, Rodney Kendrick, Ugonna Okegwo, Cody Moffett, Wallace Roney and Jacky Terrasson. Jhones’ rich vocal sound allows her to project interesting interpretations of ballads, which form a part of her repertoire; other material leans towards contemporary jazz. Jhones recorded two albums for the Cadence Jazz label in the late 90s.
