Artist Biography by

French/British indie band Peter Doherty & the Puta Madres assembles a colorful cast of characters for ramshackle, swaggering indie anthems.

The band formed in 2016, with initial sessions taking place in between Libertines tour dates. Doherty enlisted the help of Jack Jones (lead vocalist for Trampoline) on guitar, Katia DeVidas (Doherty's girlfriend) on keys and backing vocals, Michael Bontemps (Miggles) on bass, Miki Beavis on strings, and Rafa (a former gypsy street drummer Doherty met in Spain) on drums. They escaped to the French fishing village of Melun in 2018 to record an eponymous debut album, which saw release the following year.
