Peter & Jack are the brainchild of Manuel Higueras, a Spanish educator and musician. Higueras began to write instructional songs for kids while he was teaching English in kindergarten during 2010. The songs all had a simple pedagogic goal (counting from one to ten, etc.), and were "sung" by two puppets Higueras brought to class, the monkey Peter and the crow Jack. Higueras made a CD with the songs and gave it to his students as a graduation gift. Parents and friends' word of mouth led to a few radio appearances, which eventually snowballed into a deal with Universal to make a CD/DVD (kids and parents from Higueras' class participate in the videos) and a TV show for the Boing channel, Peter & Jack: The Floating School. A second CD/DVD installment appeared in 2012.
