Hailing from Dallas, TX, the nu-metal trio Nocturne includes programmer Chris Telkes, bassist/drummer Ivan McRoy, and frontwoman Lacey Conner on vocals. Triple X Records signed the band in 1999, issuing their debut album, Twilight, the same year. The trio received coveted opening slots with such big-name acts as Ministry, Genitorturers, and Christian Death, and they covered Marilyn Manson's "Get Your Gun" for the 2000 Manson tribute album, Anthems of Rust and Decay. Nocturne also earned the title of Best Band from the Dallas Music Awards before issuing their second album, Welcome to Paradise, in 2001. The hour-long album showed the trio focusing their sound and songwriting, resulting in an explosive album that fans of Powerman 5000, Kittie, and Rob Zombie would definitely appreciate.
