Nick Leggatt, while proud of his useless advanced degrees, has chosen to avoid a stodgy teaching career and instead fills his life with writing and cartooning. He has written regular columns and freelance articles on a variety of subjects - from gossip to the best local live music to how to buy a gun to political humor - for several "alternative weeklies, " many of which have not gone out of business since. He has also published a drawing or two in the more obscure broadsheets. And yet, oddly, his fame is marginal, to say the least.
