Ware was a Dixieland trombonist, best-known for his work with the clarinetist and saxophonistSidney Bechet during the late ‘40s. Ware played in the house band at a Chicago nightclub, Jazz Ltd, beginning in 1947. Late that year Bechet joined the group as a guest star for several months; he left in June 1948, only to return in August. The band (led by the club's owner, clarinetist Bill Reinhardt) remained in residence during and after Bechet's intermittent engagements. In early 1949, the band, including Ware, Reinhardt, and Bechet, recorded three titles for the club's house label, including "Maryland My Maryland" and "Careless Love." Ware also recorded with such musicians as Muggsy Spanier and Doc Evans. He continued to play with traditional jazz outfits in the early ‘50s; he moved to Florida in 1952 and worked freelance.
