Mexican rock act Mesías was formed in the mid-'90s by ex-Anaconda singer/guitarist Alejandro Montoya, later joined by drummer Enrique Serrano and bassist Alberto López. Mesías made its live debut while participating in a local rock contest for new bands in 1994, followed by an alternative/rock show in 1995 and winning the Mexican festival Explosión Rockera 4 in 1996. The group's debut album called Atico was produced by Carlos Walraven and released by Opción Sónica. In the year 2000, the goth/rock foursome participated in the Red Wire compilation Paraíso Holocausto with "L4-14."
