b. Jens Mueller, Berlin, Germany. This renowned anti-fascist rapper and political activist was forced to move to Paris, France, due to fears for his safety. He certainly gave the extreme right reason to silence him. He was the force behind an internationally distributed newsletter, Germany Alert, which catalogued racist incidents, an objective to which his lyrics were also tuned. This pushed him to the top of many organisation’s hate lists. Typically, the final date of his 1993 British tour at Goldsmiths College in London saw an increased police presence due to threats that skinheads would attempt to halt his performance. He was also condemned by his own government as ‘an alarmist’, but even the briefest perusal of Germany Alert gave a very different impression. Sadly, We Are The Majority, for all its noble intentions, remained too deeply rooted in rhetoric to secure an international audience.
