Singer/songwriter Laurie Jones matches the likes of Ani DiFranco, but in an electric sort of way. Hailing from Lubec, ME, Jones has been penning songs for most of her life, citing her grandmother as a universal influence when it came to performing -- whether it be in song or dance. As a young teenager, Jones joined a country group and performed in a garage band as well, singing at area bars in her hometown. As the new millennium approached, the woman in Jones delivered an excellent debut entitled After the Crash. It was a nice mix of melodic folk and exuberant electric riffs that surely captured Jones heartfelt work.
