The Keys are primarily a husband and wife team. Russ Keys is the songwriter and composed all of the songs for their debut album entitled Here's To Love. Marie Keys, the niece of a prominent doctor, George Morrissette from Lewiston Maine, honed her singing skills performing with church and school choirs. Both Russ and Marie Keys share the same genuine interest in keeping country music true to it's roots. This comes shining through in their live performances and recorded material as well. They are joined in their mission by a very talented group of musicians. On their 1998 (approx.) release Here's To Love, the band consisted of Chuck Lucero on drums, Ed Fikani on bass, Matt Pavolaitis, producer of the album, on piano and synthesizer, Greg Gallegos on electric guitar, Jim Tomlinson on steel guitar, Russ Keys acoustic guitar, lead and background vocals are done by Russ and Marie Keys. In 1999 The Keys could be found performing in and around the Albuquerque,NM area with their infectious country sound.
