b. Australia. Jenson’s highly successful career as a singer was paralleled by a steadily burgeoning career as a writer, broadcaster and tireless spokesperson for jazz in her homeland. For many years she was jazz critic for The Sydney Morning Herald and in 1998 she celebrated the 20th anniversary of her weekly radio show, The Joy-a-Jazz, on 2MBS-FM, with a concert featuring many luminaries of Australian jazz. Her own career as a performer made her extremely popular in Australia and elsewhere.
