Born in Brooklyn NY in 1955, Janet Rosen's earliest memories include the melodies and lyrics of the pop tunes and doowop of her childhood. Utterly lacking in musical talent, she was apparently nonetheless a born prodigy as a fan. Her first blues album purchase, at age 16, was "Robert Johnson: King of the Delta Blues Singers, vol. 1; " when in 1977 she met fellow AMG reviewer/jazz writer Stuart Kremsky, they knew it was a match made at the crossroads: he had volume 2. Living in San Francisco since the mid-70s, Janet is a nurse, an artist (http://www.jps.net/alarts/ ) active in San Francisco Open Studios, and a student of aikido.
