One-off spoof merchants notable for articulate ‘dissing’ of De La Soul. ‘Break Ya Dawn’ was a specific attack on Prince Be and his cohorts, released, tellingly enough, on the Geek St label, in 1992. It was introduced by a sample of UK disc jockey Bruno Brookes using entirely forced language such as ‘peace’ and ‘respect’, before the outfit attacked Prince Be and a host of other ‘pseuds’. Although of UK origins, the protagonists identities remained hidden, until J Blast went on to join the Scientists Of Sound.
