b. c. 1965, Sweden. In 1990, Nordström and her newly formed supporting group, the Rhinestone Band, won a Swedish Radio Country Music Award. They enjoyed considerable success touring in Sweden, gradually winning fans elsewhere through their records. The band toured the USA on a number of occasions although Nordström’s 1999 recording All Alone Together was made without her Rhinestone Band, being set down in Nashville, Tennessee, with noted Music City session musicians such as steel guitarist Buddy Emmons and pianist Pig Robbins.
Despite their long run of popularity, it was not until around 2005 that Nordström and her band began to attract serious attention in the USA, including being highly praised in Billboard and Music Row magazines, the latter journal granting them a Discovery Award.
