Bolivian heavy metal threesome Hate was formed in 1993 by guitarist Ricardo Larrazabal and singer/bassist Vladimir Mandieta, later, they were joined by a temporary drummer and recorded their first demo, called Sociedad Sin Vida, in June of 1994. A year later, drummer Milton Morales joined in, recording a second demo, XXI Century. In 1996 the band performed at Explorock festival, having the chance to play along with the most important local rock acts. In 1997, Hate went into La Paz' Proton studios to make the band's debut album, called Heart Beat Machine, released in 1998. In addition, Hate participated in a compilation called Thrash S.A., featuring "Grey" and "Blind."
