Cursed with the frustrations of not being able to start a band in Birmingham, AL, to duo of Christian (vocals/guitar) and Bryan (guitar/programming) decided to collaborate together in the summer of 1997. This resulted in the formation of Glitch and the two-piece went the route of heavy industrial with an added touch of dismal lyrics. Covering such topics as drug addiction and chemical warfare, Glitch packaged their bleak persona through a live show of fire-breathing jugglers, belly dancers, stacked TV sets, and spark-shooting power tools. Following a brief tour where Glitch had the chance to open up for Hate Dept., Soilent Green, and Crisis, the band released their first self-titled EP on their own label in 1997. After a second tour of the United States throughout the remainder of the year, Glitch put out another follow-up self-titled EP by themselves in 1998.
