Formed in Montreal in September 1996, Fifty Nutz released its first, nine-song demo in April 1997. Soon after, college radio stations across the city began playing the demo and interest in the band rose. Fifty Nutz performed its first show at Underworld in Montreal in September 1997. The punk group released its first album in November 1999. The album, Good Isn't Good Enough, sold quite well in Montreal and Quebec and Fifty Nutz's profile increased. A series of compilations followed throughout 2000 and 2001. Fifty Nutz also performed with NOFX and Green Day during the 2000 Vans Warped Tour. In 2002, the group's second album, The Last Word, was released on Union Label 2112. Fifty Nutz has toured with SUBB, Penelope, and SUBB, among others. The band's high-energy and tight punk rock arrangements have created a national following. Fifty Nutz have also had videos aired on MuchMusic and its Quebec counterpart, MusiquePlus.
