Formed in the late 70s, US rock band Facedancer comprised Jeff Adams (guitar), Mike Milsap (keyboards), Scott McGuinn (bass) and Billy Trainor (drums). After establishing themselves on the local club circuit they made a major impact with 1979’s This World, their debut album for Capitol Records. Buoyed by strong songwriting, particularly the single, ‘Time Bomb’, this created a good impression throughout the US rock mainstream. 1980’s About Face fared significantly worse. An obvious attempt to expand their audience too early in their career, possibly due to record company pressure, pop hooks meekly replaced the boisterous riffs of their debut. Its critical and commercial failure signalled the end of the group.
