This short-lived act was formed by ex-Nice drummer Brian ‘Blinky’ Davison (b. 25 May 1942, Leicester, England, d. 15 April 2008, Horns Cross, Devon, England) in May 1970. The line-up was initially comprised of Graham Bell (vocals - previously of Skip Bifferty), Geoff Peach (flute), and Alan Cartwright (bass), before being expanded to accommodate guitarist John Hedley. Bell provided much of the material featured on Every Which Way, which combined elements of fantasy with jazz rock. However, in spite of an acclaimed debut at London’s Marquee club and the best efforts of manager Tony Stratton-Smith, the quintet failed to attract commercial favour. In 1971, Bell left to join Arc while Cartwright switched to Procol Harum. Davison subsequently resurfaced in Refugee.
