The famous modern jazz bassist Eddie Gomez may feel at times that some of the recording and publishing credits attributed to him are like the unwelcome detritus following a scramble through the briar patch. The other performers named Eddie Gomez include a talented bandleader, a singer who shook maracas in the '50s, and a sweet saxophonist from half a century later. There is also a stray background singing credit attributed to an Eddie Gomez on an album by Latin pop vocalist Marcelo Cezan. Cezan's real name is Edgar Gomez, so there is speculation that he simply overdubbed his own background vocal and then tried to pull a sneaky-snock with the credits.
