One of the more respected post-punk bands, Do Ré Mi achieved limited success both in Australia and overseas since its formation in Sydney in 1981. The band had success with their second single, ‘Man Overboard’, from the debut album in 1985, although they had previously released an obscure mini-album in 1982. Subsequent releases did not attract the mainstream listeners and the excellent album Domestic Harmony, while critically acclaimed, did not sell well. Lead vocalist Deborah Conway went on to pursue a solo career.
