Artist Biography by

Former members of early-'70s German progressive rock band Emergency, guitarist Franc Diez and vocalist Peter Bischof continued to briefly collaborate as Diez & Bischof following the group's split in 1975. Although their first album, Daybreak, was firmly set in the jazz-influenced rock tradition of its predecessor, the album failed to generate much attention and Diez & Bischof separated.

While Bischof faded into obscurity, following a brief collaboration with Curt Cress, Diez remained active. In addition to forming a band, Ihre Kinder ("Your Children"), with Klaus Kinski, he worked with guitarist Peter Maffay, since 1974, and with ex-Alexis Korner bassist Colin Hodkinson, since 1979. In the late '70s, he worked with Eric Burdon as an instrumentalist and producer.

Releasing a solo album, Stranded on Fantasy Island, in 2001, Diez toured with guitarist Alex Conti.
