Delectric has fast become a favorite of the San Francisco bay area club scene. Some of the places that they were regulars of in 1999 were the Infusion and the Beach Chalet. Delectric fashions their sound around the many genres of blues including jump blues, skiffle, swing, and country blues.Their original material reflects the character of these forms, while maintaining and extending metamorphosis. Allan Whitman, bassist, is a founding member of popular surf group, Mermen. The Mermen's music has been described as the link where Sonic Youth meets Dick Dale. Eric Friedman, the drummer for Delectric, also a multi-instrumentalist and frontman for Bay Area band the Detonators, brings his expertise to the project. Ted Saverese, guitarist and vocals, has produced an album for Brandi Shearer called Museum. He also fronts his own band, Quirk that is a popular group in the Bay Area. In 1998 they released a self-titled debut album under their newly formed Bluzoid Records label. With such a diverse line-up this is sure to be a band with a big bag of surprises for all to enjoy with electrifying tunes coming forth.
