Singer, songwriter and standup comic, Dave Lippman and his band, Dave And The Shadows, featuring such fictional characters as George Shrub, the world's only singing CIA man, and George Stump, an environmentalist and timber lobbyist with Slash, Burn, Cash and Carry, project an irreverent view of modern American society.
The recipient of a Masters degree in Communication Arts from the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, Lippman has been inspiring opposition since the beginning of his career. In 1980, his debut single was banned from Yugoslavian television. His albums, including I Hate Wal-Mart, Hearts And Dollars, Declassified Songs and Shoot From The Lipp, have continued to explore his unique vision. He recorded an all-Spanish album, Dulce Nos Gusta El Café, in the mid-1980s.
Lippman is the author of a songbook, Sharks And Soldiers, a prose/poetic anti-travelogue which tells of his journeys from Ireland to Guatemala.
