Named after the popular American television serial, Charlie’s Angels comprised Kath Kehoe, Diana Eskell, Lisa Gordon, Nadia Ramsahoye, Charlie Renton and Nick Smith. They were formed in Chiswick, London, England, in 1993 when teenagers Eskell, Ramsahoye and Renton decided to form a ‘girly punk band’ while attending the same school. In addition to their three-part vocals they subsequently drafted in guitarist Smith, drummer Gordon and bass player Kehoe, and their sound became more ‘bubblegum pop’. They made their debut with the single ‘(I Wanna Be) Your Baby’.
