This German hard rock quartet was formed in 1981 by vocalist Jutta Weinhold and guitarist Alex Parche. Adding Zweibel Truhol (bass) and Cay Wolf (drums), they recorded their first and only album the following year. Influenced by Iron Maiden, Scorpions and Kiss, Volksmusik was notable for Weinhold’s powerful and unusual vocal style. The music was derivative, however. Unable to generate any interest, the band disintegrated a few months later. Weinhold reappeared as lead vocalist with Zed Yago while Parche formed his own band.
