Led by trumpet player Ricard Gili, Black Locomotive is one of Spain's longest-lasting jazz ensembles. Formed as a quintet in 1970, the group has grown into a powerful, 15-piece unit. The resident band at Cova De La Drac (Dracula's Cave) since 1971, Black Locomotive continues to perform at the Barcelona nightspot every Monday night. Much of their repertoire is comprised of tunes popularized by Louis Armstrong.
