Keyboardist Bill Little makes a recorded appearance on the sole album by Blue Jug Band, which appears to have been a studio band put together by the Capricorn label of Atlanta in order to get in on the growing audience for country jamming loaded with fiddle. While the guitarist and frontman in the band was Clint Delong, veteran country and bluegrass sideman and session player Buddy Spicher played the role of Vassar Clements in this attempt to ride the Hillbilly Jazz train. Perhaps the project's name caused confusion amongst what should have been a more receptive public, since in the context of a band the word "jug," blue or not, might be taken as a reference to jug band rather than the vessel hillbillies carry their tasty tea around in. Little also helped out with the vocals on this album, which the Ariola imprint thought was good enough to try re-releasing in 1978.
