From Detroit, Illinois, USA, and featuring Bruce Nazarian (guitar/vocals), the Automatix made one album for MCA Records in 1984. Like a mixture of Toto, Journey and Foreigner, and comparable in quality to these bands, Night Rider quickly achieved cult status among AOR fans. Despite their quality, the songs Nazarian and Jerry Q. Jones (drums, vocals) had penned, such as ‘Two Can Play’ and ‘When The Feeling Is Gone’, failed to find the wider audience they deserved and the Automatix disappeared, Nazarian reappearing alongside Bobby Barth in 1986 and Stan Bush in 1993. Of Jones, Nolan Mendenhall (bass), James A. Noel (keyboards) and Randall K. Jacobs (guitar) nothing more was heard.
