I was born in Dallas, Texas and have since lived in Philadelphia, Cleveland, Connecticut, and now New York. I have traveled to all but five of the states in the country, which has allowed me to see and learn a lot. I moved to New York in September of 1997 to attend New York University.
As far as personal facts, I am very much interested in music. I have written about it, dealt with it, and listened to it since before I can remember. Other interests include sports, cooking, and kung fu.
Currently, I am a junior at New York University working for MTVOnline. I work in the local section of the site editing and composing articles. I mainly deal with the urban aspect of concert and album reviews for the site. This deals heavily with the local and lesser-known artists in over 50 markets around the country. I also have a great deal of contact with big name artists. I have been doing this since January of this year. Before that I interned in the editorial department of Billboard magazine doing a plethora of tasks. The previous year, while attending college early, I worked as the assistant editor to a local newspaper. I am studying English at NYU and have two more years until graduation. After that I intend to pursue a career in music publicity at a record label. If not that, I am sure that I will seek a position in the music or entertainment industry.
