Rock band from Spain Antikracia was formed in 1996 by young musicians Roberto Prieto, Vicente Garrido, Jesús Rocha, and Curro Alvarez. The band's live debut took place at a local summer festival. Soon after, guitarist Vicente Garrido decided to leave, who was replaced by ex-Nictameral Luis Leiva. Around the same time, bassist Daniel Sánchez joined in. In 1997, Antikracia participated in a rock contest called Imaginarock, repeating that experience the following year. After bassist Javier Berlin joined, replacing Daniel Sánchez, the band recorded a self-titled album, issued independently by Walkiria Records. In 1998, José Carlos García became the group's new bassist.
