Polish immigrants to the United States sometimes concocted American sounding surnames in order to "fit in," yet is doubtful this has anything to do with some of the credits on an album entitled Paparazzi released by the Polish band De Mono in the late '90s. An A. Davis is credited with contributing "chorki," as is an L. Shaw. Others whose name sound more at home include R. Chojnacki on flute and sax and background singer M. Szczgielska. As for the "chorki" -- that's Polish for "vocal."
