The final installment in Shameless' first series of private releases/free downloads is a 25-minute EP by Manon-Liu Winter. A pianist in a vein similar to Sophie Agnel, she spends more time playing directly on the strings of the instrument than on its keyboard. And when she does hit the ivories, the sounds that come out buzz and ring, the interference of many objects resting on the strings. Her frantic string brushing and key thumping make good calling cards and deserve to be heard in a wider context. But the strangest element in this extended piece is the presence of "environmental sounds" (street sounds: cars, conversations, church bells). They are not related to the recording itself and form a parallel sound collage. The result is puzzling at best, annoying in its worst moments, but it piques the curiosity.
