Although the Pebbles mean well with their lo-fi, garage punk shtick, the sloppy production and the fact that the band is as tight as a chorus of drunken frat boys make this single a difficult listen. Both "We're Going Shopping" and "I Wanna Be Loved" remain in mid-tempo and sound as if they're about to fall apart once the songs start. Maybe fans of the 5,6,7,8's or Teengenerate could appreciate this, but the one microphone/four-track recording set-up robs the Pebbles of any potential.
