This three-track EP, produced by Chicago's own Chris Gray, is a brilliant indication of why Track Mode brought his skills on board for this release. "In Trippy Flight" is a lengthy, full-sided track that starts the 12" off right. If there was house music in space this is what it would sound like. A smooth pattern of drums and stretched synths complimented by sounds from the rainforest make this track unmissable. On the B-side, Gray takes listeners a few floors deeper. The EP's final two tracks, "Universal Spirit" and "High Above," sound a little more menacing. With stronger beats and sharper effects, the former goes after those on the late-night dancefloors. "High Above" is darker yet, with an on and off droning bassline, wavy synths, and a hide-and-go-seek drum pattern; this track closes the EP nicely. This record adds another fine piece to the deep catalog of Chris Gray's recordings.
