AllMusic Review by

Archetypal British label PYE collects the best of its traditional New Orleans- and Chicago-style jazz on the three-disc anthology Trad Mad! While traditional jazz had a brief resurgence of popularity during the '50s and '60s in America, it really flourished overseas where such artists as Bob Wallis, Alex Welsh, and Jim McHarg kept the roots of Louis Armstrong alive. Despite the absence of any liner notes or informative booklet -- at well over 60 tracks -- this is a great collection for fans of "trad" jazz.
