Desolate minimal instrumental from this guitar-orientated trio from Belgium, the debut CD for K-RAA-K 3 is a minimal excursion into post-rock ambience in the vein of Hood and Labradford. Maintaining this bleak sound throughout the instrumental CD, the group sustains gentle colorist variations upon minimal and repetitive themes. A few moments of upbeat elation change the mood considerably as the industrial ambience gets a little too heavy in some moments -- while in others it is that heaviness that creates a lumbering forward motion that is suggestive of the Swans and Sonic Youth. Another fine production from the eclectic Belgian independent label K-raa-k 3, which is a fine house for such a confident debut.
